Rapid React Game
Here is the 2022 game animation to give you any idea of what the team is working to accomplish.
Shooter
The shooter team started to brainstorm and design; first starting a prototype for testing different compression levels on the cargo. While testing, they decided to go with a turret shooter and a vertical transition. They are starting the second prototype this coming Monday, with the hope to test out different angles and the necessity of a continuous hood.
Cargo Handling
The cargo handling team has been working on a prototype of an over the bumper intake. They have had a lot of success with the current design and are now working on how to actuate it in and out of frame. They also figured out how to bring cargo up to the shooter with a belted tower that has belts on two sides. Next week, they will finish our prototypes and do the first version of CAD.
Climber
The climber team has been working on actuating a prototype of a virtual four bar climber. They are continuing to determine the correct dimensions and gear ratios for the virtual four bar system. The subteam has also been working with the shooter and cargo handling teams to discuss how the climber will fit on the robot to ensure the mechanisms do not interfere.
Business
Business went to the incoming Freshman orientation this past Wednesday to speak with incoming students about the robotics team. They were able to see the next generation of students interested in robotics, and they hope to see them on the team next year.
