Thank You!

  • Thank you to the Towers and Wolffs for providing lunch this Saturday for the team.

Shooter

The shooter team worked on tuning in their mechanism. They were having alignment issues in the beginning of the week but were able to fix them through slight modification. Towards the middle of the week they worked on preparing parts needed to attach to the top of the cargo handling tower. Midday Saturday they were able to mount seamlessly onto the robot and are now waiting to wire the turret on Monday and Tuesday before working on programming the rest of the week.

Cargo Handling

The cargo handling team assembled and tested their entire mechanism for the first time this week. Early in the week they completed milling and riveted the square tubes together for the tower and transition. They then put all the hex shafts on for belts and wheels while also mounting motors and chains. On Saturday they sized the flat belts and put everything together on the robot. At the end of the day on Saturday they were able to test everything put together where the mechanism worked as intended on the first test. This upcoming week they will be working on wiring, programming, and ensuring cargo continues to be intaked properly.

Climber

The climber team had a busy week finishing CAD, assembling, and mounting to the robot all in one week. They began the week by finishing CAD and getting pieces cut out on the CNC and milling machines. By the middle of the week they were assembling the two arms of the climber and they mounted after lunch on Saturday. At the end of Saturday they were able to hang from the climbing structure. Next week they will be mounting motors as well as wiring and programming with the other mechanisms.

Business

The business team has been preparing for the Robot Reveal on February 16th. They have been sending out invites as well as finalizing food and the setup. The whole team is excited to show off all the hard work to all our friends, family, and supporters. The Chairman’s Award team has been working to finish their essay in time for submission next week. After finishing the essay they will be preparing their presentation for competition.
